My main influence for my artwork comes from an artist/designer named Fabio Sasso (Abduzeedo). I love the way that he expresses himself through the work he creates. He’s one of the first artists I’ve come across, besides the classic greats before my time. I’m a fan of almost everything that he’s ever done. From his blog, which I’ve been blessed to have art be on, to his different projects and designs. Most of my great techniques and styles are inspired from his tutorials and projects. He’s very creative, eccentric and talented. One day I hope to be as successful as he is.
One of my biggest inspirations is recording artist/songwriter and one of my best friends Chad (rapper alias Hone$t John). His music alone inspires me to go far and beyond with what I do, not to settle and to always stay true to myself and the work I create. The fact that he’s always honest (pun intended), challenging me, pushing me to be the best that I can be, and excited about the work I do makes me appreciate him. He’s usually the first person to get exactly the stories I try to tell through my artwork. He motivates me to continue trying when I want to give up or get frustrated. He also puts me up there on a pedestal and gives me that confidence that I sometimes lack . He’s not only one of my biggest fans if not the biggest, but he’s a true support system.
A lot of my influence and inspiration in my art comes from my supporters. Notice I said supporters and not fans because I am not a celebrity or a public figure. I’m simply an average girl and I happen to be artistic with a story to tell. My supporters are a huge part of the success that I have had with my artwork. They give me the drive, confidence, and determination to keep going and working towards getting to the top. When one person is touched by the work that I do, whether it’s a view on a photo, or a like, or even a comment, I know that I’ve done my job as a designer and artist. I actually wouldn’t be at the point that I am without them there. They have made me who I am today.
Recording artist E.Nigma is another one of my biggest inspirations. One of the hardest working people I’ve ever come across. When I see the heart and soul he puts into what he does and the amazing music that he creates, I always get inspired to work even harder. I can actually say that he has brought out a lot in me that I never thought I had inside of myself. He gives it to me straight and challenges me to step out of my comfort zone. He’s a true fan and supporter, and he has faith in me. Can’t find a lot of people like this anymore.
One of my artistic influences would be an artist by the name of Chuck Anderson. I’ve fallen so deep in love with his style. I love the way that he dedicates himself to his work, the way that he defines color, and his techniques. I’m especially inspired by his background story of always being creative when he was younger to turning it into a career. That’s something I know that I can relate to. It’s always such a blessing to be able to look up to amazing people who are so artistically talented.
I lost my younger brothers Andre & Anton back in 1997. They were two of the most amazing people in the world to me. Ever since then, I have made it my mission to take my chance on this earth to be the best person that I can be. Trying to change the world and growing to be the best artist that I know how to be has been so hard on me sometimes, but knowing that I have these two smiling down and watching over me, motivates me more than anything to never give up and always follow my dreams. They are not only an inspiration to me but an influence as well.
